ramya@localhost~%cat about.md

I have spent 10+ years running production Kubernetes on AWS. I build multi-tenant platforms, set up observability and SLOs, lead incident response, and turn repeat failures into automation. My deepest areas are secrets management, identity and access, GitOps, and platform engineering. These days I am building AI-assisted incident triage tooling at NetApp.

Lead Site Reliability Engineer @ NetApp · Jan 2026 – now

  • Building an SRE AI intelligence platform on Azure that indexes incidents, Grafana alerts, and runbooks with hybrid vector search, so engineers triage faster.
  • Developing intelligent monitoring for ONTAP storage, including automated detection of mis-cabling from LLDP neighbor data.
  • Assessing AI coding assistants for organization-wide adoption, with security, policy, and rollout requirements.
  • Defining the Responsible AI and compliance posture for AI workloads, mapped to SOC 2 and ISO 27001.

Lead Site Reliability Engineer @ Hewlett Packard Enterprise · May 2019 – Nov 2025

  • Ran multi-cluster, multi-tenant EKS/EC2 platforms as a product, working with product and application teams from requirements to production. Improved resource utilization by 25%.
  • Built observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry and defined SLOs. Led on-call, incident response, and blameless postmortems, and mentored junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Designed AWS IAM and Kubernetes identity for 100+ microservices, and rolled out policy-as-code with Kyverno and OPA/Gatekeeper.
  • Led the migration from HashiCorp Vault to External Secrets Operator and AWS SSM, with secrets declared in Git and reconciled by ArgoCD.
  • Automated clusters, provisioning, and CI/CD with Terraform, ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize.

Senior Systems Engineer @ Red Hat · Apr 2017 – May 2019

  • Scaled reliability metrics environments for storage, usage, and performance, and implemented RBAC and identity-scoped access for monitoring systems.

DevOps Engineer @ Evernote · Jan 2017 – Apr 2017

  • Automated configuration and provisioning with Ansible and Puppet; built monitoring and alerting.

Solutions Engineer @ Chef Software · Sep 2014 – Dec 2016

  • Automated deployment and monitoring of Hadoop ecosystem components, and designed continuous delivery pipelines with Test-Kitchen, Jenkins, and Chef.

Senior Automation Engineer @ Fidelity Investments · Jul 2011 – Sep 2014

  • Architected deployment orchestration for an internal social media platform on the enterprise cloud, and wrote Chef cookbooks and automation tooling.

ramya@localhost~%tree projects/
  • greenlake-secrets/

Tooling that sets up unique credentials for each microservice, stores them in Vault, and creates a Vault role and policy scoped to that service. Secrets rotate automatically every 30 days, and none are left outside Vault.

  • vault-to-eso/

Moved secrets from Vault to External Secrets Operator and AWS SSM, removing plaintext secret handling and making secrets Git-declared and ArgoCD-reconciled.

  • sre-ai-platform/

Azure AI Search, Semantic Kernel, Functions, and Bicep. Indexes incidents, alerts, and runbooks with hybrid vector search for faster troubleshooting.

  • offline-sre-agent/

HPE Hackdays 2025. A RAG assistant for Kubernetes troubleshooting built on Ollama, LangChain, and a vector store, running fully offline in air-gapped environments.

  • policy-as-code/

Kyverno and OPA/Gatekeeper guardrails that reject over-broad RBAC and unsafe workloads at admission time, so the secure path is the default one.
